Work in Progress: Edgelands & Backrooms is a series of procedurally-generated pyschogeographical ‘walks’ through deeply ordinary environments: housing estates, shopping centres, post-industrial waste ground. I’m interested here in simulating the infinite small variations on the everyday that we see in these spaces, the thin membrane between conformity, individuality and chaos. Each is based loosely on a real place and a real walk, spun out to a nightmarish endless loop.
Each walk repeats infinitely with hundreds of thousands of random variations possibly. The works are made using Blender and Unity.
