Fellfoot Forward Radio Shows

As part of Fellfoot Forward, I worked with artist and archaeologist Rose Ferraby and children from Castle Carrock and Longtown primary schools in North Cumbria to tell the story of the local landscape through sound. We drew together sounds of the children performing geological processes and episodes from the history of the area, their thoughts and feelings on archaeological finds and the sonic environment of their village. The resulting radio programmes included recordings the children made of natural and man-made sounds in and around their school, stories collected from their families and friends and interviews they conducted with each other, reflecting on their lives in the village. Each recording is an audio snapshot of life in rural Cumbria in the twenty-first century from the perspective of the children of Castle Carrock and Longtown.
